June 2018 meeting

At our June meeting, 16 members enjoyed the Wine Club's "Tipplers' Stroll", thanks to the hospitality of our hosts and conducive weather on a delightful early summer evening . Members were treated to an array of tasty treats, and an interesting range of wines to suit most tastes.

Denise and Francis provided savour nibbles in their garden, including several interesting cheeses (Lancashire, Brie, Saint Agur, and Comté), and a range of wines: 2 New Zealand 2009 Merlots from different vineyards, a French Rosé, an Italian Pinot Grigio, and a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire. The roses and a lovely blue clematis were in full bloom.

Maureen and Chris provided a choice of delicious desserts and strawberries, and a diverse range of wines: a Californian merlot, a French Pinot Noir Rose, and an Australian Chardonnay. Their garden was a delight, as always.

We owe our hosts our sincerest thanks for making such a success of our evening.

Our club is an informal one, which enjoys wine, food, and good company. There is only a nominal members’ annual fee, and a very low charge for certain events. Village residents are encouraged to our club secretary if they are interested in sampling a club event, or would like to learn more about the club.

We next meet on July 3rd at the Outwood Cricket Club for our summer party.
