At their October meeting, Wine Club members enjoyed a fascinating talk on the subject of the Royal Albert Hall, where the speaker, Colin Deeprose, spent many years as chief steward. We were given an extensive, illustrated review of the Hall's history, its financing and its development since its opening in 1871, the major refurbishment carried out between 1996 and 2004, as well as information about the many famous people and organizations which have appeared there.
November's meeting is on Tuesday 5th, 8.00 pm at the Christchurch Centre. Part of the evening will be devoted to the Club's Annual General Meeting. This will include discussion of next year's programme, so it is hoped there will be a good attendance.
The club was founded in 1977 and meets once a month (except August), usually with a guest speaker or wine expert.
