May 2023 Meeting

Our May “Nature Ramble” turned out to be an extremely damp and muddy affair, but even so 14 plucky members were not put off by the weather!! We met at Bower Hill Farm where our host, Guy Amos took us on a guided tour around his Farm, which included the woodland, flourishing with bluebells and a walk around the wildlife lake.

A large area is devoted to the creation and protection of habitats for wildlife including woodland areas, wildflower meadows, grassland, wildlife corridors, hedgerows, lakes and ponds. Guy is trained in agriculture and looks after the conservation areas on the farm under a diversification programme.

We then gathered in the barn for a fish and chip supper. As it was also Guy’s birthday, we sang happy birthday and presented him with a birthday card and cake, which fortunately was large enough for all of us to have a slice.

Our next meeting will be the Tipplers Stroll on Tuesday, 6th June starting at 7.00pm. First stop will be at Heather Charman’s then moving onto the Baileys.
