Names were picked randomly and 5 teams were quickly organised, namely: Denbies, Nutbourne, Godstone, Sedlescombe and Albury (wine aficionados will recognise that these are Vineyards). </div><div><br /></div><div>We managed to squeeze in 5 rounds (with a break for food and refreshments) and the eventual winning team was Denbies on 149 (Derek F, Ian P, Val L and Francis). The player with the highest individual cumulative score was Derek F on 49 and the player with the highest score in a round was also Derek F with 13. Derek had obviously been practising!!! </div><div><br />Many thanks go to the British Legion, for a warming and plentiful supper, Val and Janet for organising the evening and Graham B for some of the transportation but the main vote of thanks must go to Graham H and Caroline for the very efficient computerised scoring and the organising of the teams. <br /><br /><i>Our next meeting is a talk on The Nutfield Priory by Amanda McGuigan on 9th April in Christ Church Hall at 8.00pm and hope to see a good turnout of members!</i></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-62864510298624904272024-02-12T07:16:00.000-08:002024-02-21T07:19:13.177-08:00February 2024 meeting13 members duly assembled for a night of horse racing, kindly organised by Graham and Caroline. We were all given a ‘racing card’ showing 8 races (each race had 8 runners) and allocated £100 (imaginery, of course!) and could bet on up to 3 horses in each race. <br /><br />Our first race was the All-Comer’s Cup, including runners entitled Got the Trots, Clippity Clop and Hi Ho Silver. Giddy Up was the winner at 6:1. Another race was the Handicap Hurdles, with Blind Hasabbat, Chronic Elf and Under the Weather. The winner here was Double Vision at 2:1. As the evening wore on, members were really entering into the fun and were placing larger bets, consequently leaving one member in negative equity after the last race. <br /><br />The winner with a final pot of £301 was Janet(!!) and second place went to Pat with £241. A bottle of wine and a box of chocolates were the rewards respectively. <br /><br />Many thanks indeed to Graham and Caroline for a very entertaining and well organised evening and for supplying all the equipment and also to Mary and Derek for the raffle. <br /><br />We also celebrated a member’s special birthday with a cake and some sparkling wine. We wished Heather a very, very happy 90th birthday, which she will celebrate later in the month. She said it was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ4U-eD9s0S_LjuMjmpcqmf5Ik8i6kBeV-ftNhae8nZwTOsFnAh5MaMJpIh1DFEyNAKAVQp5RCk6vnA8KS4PafmxgcdRqKieKMGc2MUMWLiCMo9UyQT3phUw8ajbBxuRcwPe-gIeVFOhzCAzF5uvf3Fi_Kjt2yKK8vk3aHqbTUxXRmZVPXe_A3GsbbRtPh/s863/Heather's%20Birthday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="863" data-original-width="760" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ4U-eD9s0S_LjuMjmpcqmf5Ik8i6kBeV-ftNhae8nZwTOsFnAh5MaMJpIh1DFEyNAKAVQp5RCk6vnA8KS4PafmxgcdRqKieKMGc2MUMWLiCMo9UyQT3phUw8ajbBxuRcwPe-gIeVFOhzCAzF5uvf3Fi_Kjt2yKK8vk3aHqbTUxXRmZVPXe_A3GsbbRtPh/w353-h400/Heather's%20Birthday.jpg" width="353" /></a></div><br /><div><br /><br /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><i>Our March meeting will be on Tuesday, 5th March when we will be at the British Legion Club, Limpsfield for skittles and supper. A warming and welcome glass of mulled wine was very kindly provided by Graham and Janet which gave everyone a chance to chat. <div><br /></div><div>Individual members brought their own contributions to provide a buffet meal which was laid out for us all to help ourselves. <br /><br />Then it was time for some Christmas-themed quizzes and a ‘Guess the Pantomime/Show’. The quizzes did prove to be quite hard but everyone certainly knew their Pantos!! The outright winners were Graham, Caroline, Kent and Jane. Well done!! <br /><br />Many thanks go to Mary and Derek for an absolutely superb raffle. <br /><br /><i>Look forward to catching up with everyone at our New Year Dinner on the 16th January at the Bletchingley Arms.</i></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-32761847916507617422023-11-10T02:37:00.000-08:002023-11-20T02:39:20.100-08:00November 2023 AGM meetingNovember was the month for our AGM and was attended by 20 members and 2 guests. The vital business of the evening being the appointment of Officers and Committee but luckily no arm twisting was required so the ‘old’ Committee was duly re-elected: <br /><br />Chair : Val Large <br />Secretary : Janet Bailey <br />Treasurer : Graham Bailey <br />Committee : Heather Charman, Mary Freeman, Derek Freeman and Kent Sandiford <br /><br />Following the AGM, it was ‘eyes down and look in’ as Bingo was next on the Agenda. <br /><br /><i>Next month we will be meeting on Tuesday, 5th December for the Club’s Christmas Party which will include Members’ food contributions and mulled wine, together with a few seasonal quizzes.</i> <br /><br /><div>At the Christmas Party details will be available for our New Year Dinner on the 16th January.</div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-16043620727066052312023-10-09T07:17:00.008-07:002023-10-19T07:19:35.582-07:00October 2023 Meeting18 members and a guest gathered on 3rd October in Christ Church Hall for a Quiz gathering. Graham and Caroline were the quiz masters. The quiz had 8 sections, and the last section looked for connections between the questions. Some questions were reasonably straightforward, but others involved much head scratching. <br /><br />There was a section described as “A fruit consisting of a hard or tough shell, an area of open land planted with crops”. Can you guess what the subject was? The specific questions were: (1) What major event happened in 1884? (2) How many Grade 2 listed buildings are there in the village: 11, 22, 33 or 44? (3) The official green in the village is next to? (4) The name of the MP for the village? (5) Started by the Shinner family in 1957? (6) The name of the long-distance walk through the village? How many can you answer? <br /><br />Val and Pat won the prize for the best team name (“Haven’t got a clue”). The winning team was the Hofmeisters (Graham B & Derek F), closely followed by the Teetotalers (Maggie & Geoff), and the Odd Ones (Liz & Francis). Appropriately, “Haven’t got a clue” propped up the table, and won the crisps. <br /><br />Many thanks to Graham and Caroline for producing and running an excellent quiz, and to Val for the raffle. <br /><br /><i>We will next be meeting on November 7th for the AGM and games. Derek L and Geoff brought along 3 of their favourite tipples for everyone to sample and fifteen members duly arrived armed with the all important nibbles! <br /><br />There were 6 wines for tasting – 4 white wines, a rosé and a red. For the scoring of each wine, we had to guess the grape, the country/region, the year it was made and the price (one point for each correct answer, so a total of 24 points was up for grabs. The grape varieties ranged from Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pecorino, Trebbiano Di Lugana and Sauvignon Blanc and the countries/regions from France, Argentina, Italy and Spain. <div><br /></div><div>Unfortunately, the scoring system this time appeared to confuse some members (I must stress here that it was definitely not due to the intake of alcohol) so there was a show of hands instead (much simpler) and the Trivento Malbec Rose from Argentina was the favourite at a cost of £8.50 from Tesco, supplied by Derek. <br /><br />A big thank you to Derek and Geoff for bringing along the wines, and also to Mary and Derek for organising the raffle. <br /><br /><i>Our next meeting will be our Quiz Night on the 3rd October. </i><br /></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-57361406240618950182023-08-07T04:12:00.001-07:002023-08-17T04:15:19.181-07:00August 2023 OutingDespite the imminent arrival of Storm Antoni, 10 intrepid members set out for their August outing to the Rural Life Living Museum located near Farnham. The Museum, set in 10 acres, was opened in 1973 by Henry and Madge Jackson and is a countryside museum featuring exhibits and buildings from 1750 to 1960. To date they have over 40,000 artefacts relating to agriculture and rural life which would have otherwise been lost or destroyed. <br /><br />On arrival we fortified ourselves with refreshments in the Market Garden Café before venturing outside. To our surprise we were greeted with sunshine and a blue sky. Armed with a very informative map we made our way around the Museum, starting with the Arcon Prefab and Stanton Shelter before moving onto Henry’s Yard and Forge and the Tweedsmuir Polish Camp, not missing out on a ride on the Old Kiln Light Railway!! <br /><br />Next stop was lunch and, as luck would have it, Storm Antoni then decided to make an appearance in the form of a heavy downpour. By the time we had eaten the rain had stopped and the sun had again come out. We managed further visits to the Chapel, School Room and Cricket Pavilion before closing time and our departure. <br /><br />Many thanks to Graham B for suggesting this visit and for providing the transport for what turned out, for us, to be a very interesting and enjoyable day despite the predictions from the weather experts!! <br /><br /><i>The next meeting will be a tasting of members’ favourite wines, on 5th September in Christ Church Hall. It’s a beautiful peaceful location, as can be seen in the accompanying photograph. The weather was pleasant, although not as warm as recent weeks. Members thoroughly enjoyed chatting and catching up, and sharing food and refreshments. <br /><br />Thanks to Janet and Val L for organising the event, to Mary and Derek for the excellent raffle, and to members for their contributions. <br /><br /><i>We next meet for an excursion on Saturday 5th August, which will be a visit to The Surrey Rural Life Living Museum, Farnham, and a pub nearby. Happily the strolling distance between the two venues was easily manageable and we were also blessed with a dry and sunny evening! <br /><br />Nineteen members and one guest were treated to an interesting range of wines to suit all tastes from reds (Shiraz and Merlot), whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio) and two rosés. Our hosts also provided a very fine spread of nibbles and snacks. <br /><br />Many thanks to them for making such a success of our evening. <br /><br /><i>Our next outing is the Summer Party on Tuesday, 4th July starting at 7.00pm at Bower Hill Farm, with kind permission of Guy Amos.</i>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-61181236510952821012023-05-08T06:31:00.013-07:002023-05-17T06:34:42.622-07:00May 2023 MeetingOur May “Nature Ramble” turned out to be an extremely damp and muddy affair, but even so 14 plucky members were not put off by the weather!! We met at Bower Hill Farm where our host, Guy Amos took us on a guided tour around his Farm, which included the woodland, flourishing with bluebells and a walk around the wildlife lake. <br /><br />A large area is devoted to the creation and protection of habitats for wildlife including woodland areas, wildflower meadows, grassland, wildlife corridors, hedgerows, lakes and ponds. Guy is trained in agriculture and looks after the conservation areas on the farm under a diversification programme. <br /><br />We then gathered in the barn for a fish and chip supper. As it was also Guy’s birthday, we sang happy birthday and presented him with a birthday card and cake, which fortunately was large enough for all of us to have a slice. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRm7Tnoy3KuREBxuUNpuBI1LVyvxudX-ktV78KDtI5v92j1hh_7JmoOw4ayOKpmAMHS_AwxSpN1gB7xXnTY16o8Rm3OoibtYw8fby0obllkSTCvqfiJ5PefaTkmhq_OaCyZ31NxPpOUCL7evNmj-p8Gg02kKV3ZcI6k-kNAfd5GTWBl-aY_uw5jpGSAw/s640/Nutfield%20Wine%20Club%20Bower%20Hill%20Farm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="481" data-original-width="640" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRm7Tnoy3KuREBxuUNpuBI1LVyvxudX-ktV78KDtI5v92j1hh_7JmoOw4ayOKpmAMHS_AwxSpN1gB7xXnTY16o8Rm3OoibtYw8fby0obllkSTCvqfiJ5PefaTkmhq_OaCyZ31NxPpOUCL7evNmj-p8Gg02kKV3ZcI6k-kNAfd5GTWBl-aY_uw5jpGSAw/w400-h301/Nutfield%20Wine%20Club%20Bower%20Hill%20Farm.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /><br /><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i>Our next meeting will be the Tipplers Stroll on Tuesday, 6th June starting at 7.00pm. Postcards were not only made of paper but also of leather and even wood. </div><div><br /></div><div>At the end of the talk he showed a number of postcards which depicted local scenes, in particular one postcard outside the shops in Station Approach and one of Doods Brow School, the year being 1910. <br /><br />Many thanks to Graham and Caroline for supplying the projection equipment and to Val for organising the raffle. <br /><br /><i>Our next meeting is Tuesday, 9th May and is a visit to Bower Hill Farm to include a fish and chip supper.</i></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-86589222556780101472023-03-13T02:43:00.012-07:002023-03-23T02:46:46.833-07:00March 2023 MeetingWe met on a cool Tuesday 7th March for the popular Skittles Evening with Supper, at the Royal British Legion, Limpsfield. 16 members arrived to do battle. <br /><br />Names were selected randomly for 4 teams, namely: Cordon, Arms, Head, and Canopy (wine aficionados will recognise that these as parts of a grape vine). After 4 rounds and some excellent bowling, team Arms (Angela, Denise, Janet and Kent) was declared the winner on the night. However, a “steward’s inquiry” was conducted later in the week, with a recount. It turned out that the winning team was actually team Cordon (Francis, Trish, Derek F, and Jane) with 117 points, closely followed by Arms, Head and Canopy, in that order. <br /><br />No one recorded a flopper (all 9 pins with one ball), but there were a few dam busters (bouncing balls). The best individual score on the night was from Denise, with 39 points, who also had the best single round score of 16, including a spare (ie all 9 pins with 2 balls). In equal second were Francis, Derek F, and Mary’s off-the-bench team. Graham B also won a prize for the remarkable feat in one round of a beaver or duck. He managed to thread all 3 balls between the pins without knocking any over (also known as a spider (Worcestershire), or a bolter (South Wales)). There is a rumour that another member owes him £100 for the feat. <br /> <br /> Many thanks go to the British Legion for the venue, a friendly bar team, and for a warming and plentiful supper; to Janet for organising the evening, to Graham and Caroline who organised the teams and recorded the scoring, to Janet who organised the prizes, and to Graham B for some of the transportation. <br /><br /><i>We next meet on Tuesday 4th April at the Christ Church Hall for a talk by one of our members on Postcard Particularities (they may or may not be from the Edge). The horses also had some amusing names, such as Knot a Sausage, Oars Meet, and Spota Bova. <br /><br />Most members started fairly cautiously, but placed larger bets as the evening went on. The clear winner after a rather quiet start was Heather, well ahead of Derek L, and Pat in 3rd place. They were the lucky recipients of bottles of wine. It was an evening of sipping, nibbling tasty victuals (from Middle English ‘vitailen’), Christmas music (thanks to Kent’s blue-tooth and playlist), and of course conviviality. <br /><br />Val Large, our chair, had laid down a challenge of a prize for the best-decorated slippers. Most members had gone to some effort, and there was some spectacular creativity on show on members’ feet. Special mention should go to Val L and Pat. By popular vote, Heather won the prize for the best-dressed slippers (<i>see photo</i>). <br /><br />Janet had organised a Christmas dingbats quiz. Several members scored very highly, but the prize for the top score went to Graham and Caroline H for a perfect score (18/18). <br /><br />Many thanks go to Val for co-ordinating, Mary and Derek for an excellent raffle, and all who helped make the evening so much fun.<br /> <br /><i> We look forward to catching up with everyone at our New Year Dinner on the 17th January at the Bletchingley Arms. Our Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer duly presented their reports and then we moved onto the Election of Officers and Committee. Luckily the current Officers and Committee were prepared to stand for a further year so the following were duly re-elected:<br /><br />Chair : Val Large<br />Secretary: Janet Bailey<br />Treasurer: Graham Bailey<br />Committee: Heather Charman, Mary Freeman, Derek Freeman and Kent Sandiford<br /><br />With the serious part of the evening done and dusted, members were then able to enjoy socialising and/or participating in games (bar skittles and quoits). Many thanks to Mary and Derek for organising the raffle.<br /><br /><i>Our Christmas Party is on the 6th December and the competition for the evening will be the best decorated Xmas slippers!!! There will be a prize for the winner. Look forward to seeing everyone there.</i><br /><br /><i>A date for the diary: Tuesday, 17th January 2023 is our New Year Dinner at the Bletchingley Arms. As we have (dare I mention it) Christmas in our sights, the wines and food were related to a typical Christmas Day menu. <br /><br /><div>So for starters on Christmas morning, what better way to begin with than smoked salmon and a Pinot Gris from New Zealand from the Taste the Difference range at Sainsburys. The process continued with a suitable wine for the main course (turkey), a Pinot Noir, again from Marlborough, New Zealand and for desert (mince pies), a Chateaux Barreyres from France. To round off the menu, cheese and biscuits accompanied with Taylors 10 year-old Tawny Port.<br /><br />At the end of the tasting, Max asked the Club to vote for a favourite, which resulted in a tie between the Pinot Gris and the Taylors 10 year-old Port. Our Chairman, Val, then thanked Max for a most enjoyable and informative evening.<br /><br />Many thanks to Val for organising the raffle.<br /><br /><i>Our next meeting will be our AGM on the 1st November.</i></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-38728087627060923352022-09-12T07:45:00.001-07:002022-09-29T07:47:23.275-07:00September 2022 MeetingFor our September Meeting we were due to hold a Race Night (no, not between members but for horse racing!) However, due to unforeseen circumstances this had to be postponed at short notice and we were able to organise a (very) informal Quiz and Game evening instead.<br /><br />We commenced with a Beetle Drive, which resulted in some highly amusing drawings of beetles, but no driving!! We had four rounds of quizzes - on London, General Knowledge, European Geography and Anagrams of Towns and Cities in the UK. All members did extremely well, but overall Francis, Pat and Liz just pipped the other teams as the highest scorers.<br /><br /><i>For our October Meeting we will welcome back our guest speaker, Max Conrad, for a wine tasting session.</i>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-72593335457381939372022-08-15T07:42:00.001-07:002022-09-29T07:45:42.111-07:00August 2022 MeetingFor our August outing, 7 members and 1 guest were en-route for Birdworld, located near Farnham and is the UK’s largest bird park. It was a sunny day and thankfully just the right temperature for strolling around Birdworld, which is spread over 26 acres of landscaped park and gardens. It is home to over 1,000 birds and 180 species from around the world.<br /><br />On arrival, the café was our first stop for coffee and cake before heading off. The birds were certainly making their presence felt with parrots (of all shapes and sizes), whistling ducks and kookaburras, among other species, all adding to the general hubbub. Do you know what the following groups of birds are called: Parrots, Penguins, Pelicanss, Herons and Flamingoes? (Answers below but no peeking).<br /><br />Lunch was at the Forest Lodge Garden Centre, run by Haskins, located within the Park and accessed via a locked gate, which the Park staff open for entry to the Garden Centre and return!!<br /><br />Before leaving Birdworld, a stop for afternoon tea was a must and rounded off a very enjoyable day.<br /><br />Thank you to Graham B for supplying the transport.<br /><br /><i>(Parrots–Pandemonium/Penguins–Huddle/Pelicans–Squadron/Herons–Siege/Flamingoes-Flamboyance)</i>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-30614696132877890092022-07-12T06:53:00.003-07:002022-07-12T06:53:22.565-07:00July 2022 Meeting On 5th July, twenty-two members of the Nutfield Wine Club enjoyed the club’s summer party at Val and Ian’s home and garden. The weather was pleasant and importantly dry. Members thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the garden, chatting and catching up. Ian had kindly put out some games, but these were ignored as members were enjoying talking too much.<br /><br />Val and Ian were wonderful hosts and provided a range of food and Pimms, supplemented by members’ wine and food contributions. Thanks also to Val L and Janet for organising the event, to Mary and Derek for the excellent raffle, Graham B for providing some transport, and to members for their contributions. <br /><br />Quote of the evening: “<i>I don’t think that I could have a relationship with a fish</i>”.<br /><br /><i>We next meet for an excursion on Saturday 20th August, which is likely to be a visit to the The Surrey Rural Life Living Museum, Farnham, and a pub nearby. Please contact Janet (822333) if you would like further details. This year, Graham and Caroline very kindly offered to host the entire event in their lovely garden. About 22 members took advantage of their very generous offer, including our life member, Isobel, and another long-term member Pam. It was lovely to see both of them this time.<br /><br />Our hosts had organised optional games, including croquet and a version of mini golf. Members brought food and drink contributions to supplement the wine and BBQ provided by Graham and Caroline. Members enjoyed catching up, together with the refreshments, in our hosts’ garden. Fortunately the weather stayed dry, although it wasn’t quite warm enough for swimming. <br /><br />Many thanks to Graham and Caroline, the contributors, and those who provided transport. We are already looking forward to the Tipplers’ Stroll next year.<br /><br /><i>Our next meeting is the Summer Party at Val and Ian’s on 5th July. We arranged ourselves into 3 teams and then each team was handed a set of questions by our Question Master, Janet. There was a Picture Round, a Sweetie Quiz, a Pound Shillings and Pence Round, a Yes/No Quiz and a Number Round.<br /><br />At half-time, Val very kindly supplied tea and coffee, which allowed the hard-working brain cells some respite!!<br /><br /><div>After more brain-racking (and guessing), the team with the highest score of 129, consisting of Caroline, Graham H, Kent and Derek, were duly rewarded with bottles of wine.<br /><br />A big thank you to Mary for a grand job organising the raffle, which had an Easter theme.</div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-505451843516924689.post-23250177018138134532022-03-04T03:20:00.001-08:002022-03-29T03:24:02.120-07:00March 2022 MeetingWe met on Tuesday 1st March for the popular Skittles Evening with Supper, at the Royal British Legion, Limpsfield. 21 members arrived to compare their skittle skills. <div><br /></div><div>Names were picked randomly and 5 teams were quickly organised, namely: Solomon, Rehoboam, Balthazar, Salmanazar, and Melchior (wine aficionados will recognise that these are bottle sizes). After 4 rounds, Solomon and Melchior were tied on 90 points, closely followed by Rehoboam, so a playoff was required. </div><div><br /></div><div>That was very close too, and the two teams were only separated by a point. The eventual winner was Melchior (Ian, Jane, Kent, and Graham H & Caroline). The players with the highest individual cumulative score were Janet and Kent, who tied on 26. The player with the highest score in a round was Pam with 9, which just goes to show that age is no barrier. Graham B also won a prize for propping up the scoreboard. <br /><br />Many thanks go to the British Legion, for a warming and plentiful supper, Janet for organising the evening, Graham and Caroline who scored very well, Val L who organised the teams and the prizes, and Graham B for some of the transportation on a rather wet and windy night.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_BIuUcwk5xzsGpUJl2x_bi0Uu_A0h89xWIJ_hrt0sDzVPAFQUxs3gC09uzwyGes5Tq0OAMK3YZH2o-Sq3fOJdKd78u2IpjUYIOLKmj2BSDnmmsC79V5ik5xGN42FiyHEk5K7z6MtqBVG_FDzF8LEtkPQ4EJnAHmZHxNKc_l4tJfGTmvH_55t5Gu1yGQ/s1600/e8004184-4592-4d98-b235-d0d48a3792dc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_BIuUcwk5xzsGpUJl2x_bi0Uu_A0h89xWIJ_hrt0sDzVPAFQUxs3gC09uzwyGes5Tq0OAMK3YZH2o-Sq3fOJdKd78u2IpjUYIOLKmj2BSDnmmsC79V5ik5xGN42FiyHEk5K7z6MtqBVG_FDzF8LEtkPQ4EJnAHmZHxNKc_l4tJfGTmvH_55t5Gu1yGQ/w400-h300/e8004184-4592-4d98-b235-d0d48a3792dc.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUZAyrLhmTdu9WD7nT_V_MXnDSYrEG87fvHVqufzwXRFzPdLvKZ8lC6Y_bRBRPYDXib2A4Vo3Z0s0XqGa1MgSMLnQVf-sHBf3VQ-r36sYg9RHxBdZwYmCTr5QDDSbMDRS1GNpcKhfBhAmBNVN0Oqd_bk24aOC-6kSe0pH_CDyU2Z2wHt6OfmkPo0oFSQ/s4032/IMG_1789.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUZAyrLhmTdu9WD7nT_V_MXnDSYrEG87fvHVqufzwXRFzPdLvKZ8lC6Y_bRBRPYDXib2A4Vo3Z0s0XqGa1MgSMLnQVf-sHBf3VQ-r36sYg9RHxBdZwYmCTr5QDDSbMDRS1GNpcKhfBhAmBNVN0Oqd_bk24aOC-6kSe0pH_CDyU2Z2wHt6OfmkPo0oFSQ/w400-h300/IMG_1789.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYXUo9_xqqtYfdtaNepeWK30Sz3q59T50e-xKamnCcAUWZsOq0Gvpck1pmjgS5PQudFXYtoIbAPBepVlC4Q5gq4X1OujaPsNWpSQkgQOJ7n9UaYZccYiXGyyvwl1_1719qAN1kAhu2UwRyoEzjopr6-LpIFQqqlV4CKu07Ut9THuLXvJuPXg4V_j-uKg/s4032/IMG_1790%20copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYXUo9_xqqtYfdtaNepeWK30Sz3q59T50e-xKamnCcAUWZsOq0Gvpck1pmjgS5PQudFXYtoIbAPBepVlC4Q5gq4X1OujaPsNWpSQkgQOJ7n9UaYZccYiXGyyvwl1_1719qAN1kAhu2UwRyoEzjopr6-LpIFQqqlV4CKu07Ut9THuLXvJuPXg4V_j-uKg/w300-h400/IMG_1790%20copy.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuSm_5qHwxjRDV_K06m1XTwjr5J5D9gs7V1fS6G-SgxeSg0oTrSX0s0oXcU0v22jxT7T2DMttbsGaDTjL52YkmTpfo4fqEp3Vf7NJqI1K2bcICbRHiujeCyq6pNKH0qFc4VaVd-A26JbDvm3cnnbdQ8vhF1rxzVqZK3TjxpwISxyDb3EWWvfYetJ_Pig/s3049/IMG_1791.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2274" data-original-width="3049" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuSm_5qHwxjRDV_K06m1XTwjr5J5D9gs7V1fS6G-SgxeSg0oTrSX0s0oXcU0v22jxT7T2DMttbsGaDTjL52YkmTpfo4fqEp3Vf7NJqI1K2bcICbRHiujeCyq6pNKH0qFc4VaVd-A26JbDvm3cnnbdQ8vhF1rxzVqZK3TjxpwISxyDb3EWWvfYetJ_Pig/w400-h299/IMG_1791.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXu1E22QuAbvGpgvnZ4D5Nm-u_6gxsnTn8MrasqToH4lRI1eVGZR4LUpDqURMEcihDPsWYhvj6mDe2gYMEHT-lvIuplAI3mbp1EiWYox_MtKrCZWQpO-TukgPIeDDgManEo6-pOuZPt19bZrlF_VybX1a7C0QE837ZLZURSsi3ZKLEwymsmvmRuPEEkA/s4032/IMG_1792.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXu1E22QuAbvGpgvnZ4D5Nm-u_6gxsnTn8MrasqToH4lRI1eVGZR4LUpDqURMEcihDPsWYhvj6mDe2gYMEHT-lvIuplAI3mbp1EiWYox_MtKrCZWQpO-TukgPIeDDgManEo6-pOuZPt19bZrlF_VybX1a7C0QE837ZLZURSsi3ZKLEwymsmvmRuPEEkA/w300-h400/IMG_1792.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div>Kent Sandifordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17377257578572132225noreply@blogger.com0
