So for starters on Christmas morning, what better way to begin with than smoked salmon and a Pinot Gris from New Zealand from the Taste the Difference range at Sainsburys. The process continued with a suitable wine for the main course (turkey), a Pinot Noir, again from Marlborough, New Zealand and for desert (mince pies), a Chateaux Barreyres from France. To round off the menu, cheese and biscuits accompanied with Taylors 10 year-old Tawny Port.
At the end of the tasting, Max asked the Club to vote for a favourite, which resulted in a tie between the Pinot Gris and the Taylors 10 year-old Port. Our Chairman, Val, then thanked Max for a most enjoyable and informative evening.
Many thanks to Val for organising the raffle.
Our next meeting will be our AGM on the 1st November.
