October's meeting of the Wine Club was a lively successful occasion with 24 members, and 14 guests from the Coulsdon Wine Club, enjoying a range of New Zealand wines. We owe a big thanks to Francis and Denise Dickinson for running this tasting and introducing such an interesting selection of New Zealand wines. These were a Lindauer Brut, a Pinot Grigio from the East Coast, a Sauvignon Blanc from Nelson, a Gewurztraminer from Nelson, a Pinot Noir from Marlborough, a Malbec from Nelson and a Merlot Cabernet from Hawkes Bay. The favourite by common consent was the Hawkes Bay Merlot Cabernet.
A challenging quiz also taught us a lot about the country, with the prize bottle of wine going to one of our guests.
