Everyone received £100 in “crypto money”, and could bet on up to 3 horses in each of 8 races, with names like The Rump Stakes, Legge’s Challenge, and The Munny Chase. The horses also had some amusing names, such as Knot a Sausage, Oars Meet, and Spota Bova.
Most members started fairly cautiously, but placed larger bets as the evening went on. The clear winner after a rather quiet start was Heather, well ahead of Derek L, and Pat in 3rd place. They were the lucky recipients of bottles of wine. Liz won a packet of crisps!
Many thanks to Graham and Caroline for setting up all the equipment (laptop, spreadsheet and projector) so that the evening went very smoothly, and running the racing, and to Mary and Derek for the raffle.
